Frequently asked questions

How is FoodOps different to other food manufacturing software?

FoodOps is different because it’s not just a set of digital tools or modules, it’s a fully connected operational backbone for food manufacturing.

While traditional systems like MES, ERP, and QMS exist in silos, FoodOps integrates quality, production, stock, supply chain, and documents into one intelligent platform.

Data flows automatically across operations in real time, workflows are composable, and the system is built specifically for the complexity of food manufacturing.

Unlike other solutions that digitise individual tasks or departments, FoodOps makes the entire factory traceable, visible, and more efficient.

Why is connected data so important in food manufacturing?

Through years of working with food manufacturers across multiple industries, we’ve noticed the same challenge again and again: fragmented systems. Processes, teams, and data often exist in silos, creating bottlenecks, slowing decisions, and wasting valuable time.

We’ve found that when factories connect their processes, people, and data, everything changes. Operations become transparent and efficient, teams can make proactive, data-driven decisions, and the result is smoother workflows, higher throughput, and better quality across the board.

Is FoodOps suitable for all industries in food manufacturing?

Yes. We work with food manufacturers across a range of industries, including fresh produce, meat, poultry, cheese & dairy, supplements and more. FoodOps is completely configurable to your production environment with the power and flexibility to manage even your most complex workflows, and connect your factory operations for efficiency and transparency.

How does FoodOps support traceability and recalls?

FoodOps meets all your traceability requirements by providing real-time ingredient and batch tracking, full forward and backward traceability, and traceability tags that link paperless procedures directly to inventory. It enables you to respond to recalls in minutes, not hours.

How does FoodOps support BRCGS, HACCP, FSMA and other compliance requirements in food manufacturing?

FoodOps supports BRC, HACCP, FSMA, and other food safety standards by digitising quality processes, SOPs, and audits. It provides real-time dashboards and audit-ready records to help maintain compliance effortlessly, with full traceability.

Can I connect the data from my ERP/MES/other systems into FoodOps?

Yes! We have special connectors which mean that you can communicate with both on-premise and cloud servers. This enables you to access your data and even run commands in response to events, in real-time.

Does FoodOps support real-time production monitoring?

Yes, you can easily combine and visualise different data streams in real time, pulling information from multiple internal and third-party sources, including procedures and actions from the platform, internal datasets and queries, and external APIs or connected systems.

How is FoodOps hosted? Do I need my own server?

FoodOps is a cloud hosted platform, meaning that we manage all aspects of the deployment and upgrades. This means that you can start using it immediately!

How is FoodOps accessed?

FoodOps is browser-based and works seamlessly on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices in both online and offline modes. Your teams can complete all their tasks digitally and in real time, whether in the QA office, on the factory floor, or working externally.

How is pricing structured?

FoodOps is a subscription-based platform, with the annual cost based on which modules you want to use and how much you will be using them. Get in touch so we can discuss your challenges and review the applicable modules.

Is it licensed by user?

Not quite, we don't like per-user licensing as it doesn't match up your actual usage with how much you pay. We have aligned our pricing much more closely with application usage, meaning your cost is in line with the value you get from it.

How can I get my data out?

Reporting is built into FoodOps, making it simple to get to your data, either through custom views or the built-in dashboards and reports. All data can be downloaded to excel through these tools.

Does FoodOps support multi-facility operations?

Yes. The cloud-based systems means you can easily scale your factory operations to additional sites and the self-service platform means you can adapt your processes as your operation develops.

How long does it take to implement FoodOps?

FoodOps is cloud based and intuitive enough for teams to use with minimal training. You'll have access from day 1 and previous customer have implemented complicated key processes in less than 5 days with help from our solution consultants.

What customer support is offered post-implementation?

Our team has many year's experience working in food manufacturing. We work closely with our customers to provide ongoing support and actively incorporate user feedback into platform improvements.

What happened to QualityApp?

QualityApp evolved into FoodOps. We started by helping food manufacturers digitise their processes with a smart paperless factory, but our customers found value from using QualityApp as operational infrastructure across production, supply chain, and procurement.

This is the next step to solve the problem of disconnected data, FoodOps is designed to enable food factories to operate as one connected, learning system.
