Abbey View Produce: Building Configurable, Enterprise-Grade Apps that Fit Real Production Processes

In early 2026, Abbey View Produce chose FoodOps' cloud-based, self-service platform to digitise and streamline their operations.

Abbey View Produce has been supplying quality fresh produce to the UK market for more than 50 years. Working closely with an established network of growers both in the UK and abroad, they supply to major retailers and food service throughout the year.

Previously, Abbey View relied on complex spreadsheets to manage their factory operations and quality processes. However, as their operation grew, they reached the limits of what spreadsheets could achieve. Their goal was to implement a system that complemented their existing processes, was simple to manage, and could scale as the business continued to grow.

Choosing FactoryApps

The First Week

Abbey View Produce began their digitalisation journey with the FactoryApps module, starting with their Goods In process. Operating 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, Goods In is a critical and high-throughput function of their operation, making it the ideal starting point for improving efficiency and capturing data at the point of receipt.

Within the first five days of implementation, Abbey View Produce created a fully tailored multi-step intake workflow built using custom pages and integrated MES workflows. This captured all intake requirements and booked each pallet directly into stock, delivering a more accurate, efficient, and traceable intake operation.

A Few Months In

At our most recent onsite visit, we saw first-hand how the team is using the platform and the impact it is already having across the business.

In just a few months, Abbey View Produce has fully digitised its intake and bulk stock processes, creating a more streamlined and efficient way of working.

This has helped the team to:

• Move away from error-prone spreadsheets that were difficult to maintain
• Free up time to focus on new improvements rather than managing existing systems
• Access accurate, real-time data across their processes
• Respond more quickly to changing customer requirements

Next Steps

The next phase focuses on digitising packing and despatch operations by introducing a workflows to scans products against production orders and connects procedures directly to live stock data, replacing the existing paper checks.

It has been great to see how the FactoryApps module has wrapped around their processes, enabling rapid iteration and deployment across the factory floor.
